Wezesha

In 2015, a group of women created Wezesha CBO after noting the burden that women in their local community bore as they faced the ever-worsening effects of climate change. It educates female leaders in Bahati, Nakuru County on the importance of agroforestry, how to set up their own tree farms, and the process of making organic manure to boost crop yields.

In collaboration with TerraFund partner International Tree Foundation, Wezesha will use this grant to expand its existing commitment to restore the Dundori Forest, which has lost tree cover as farmers expand cultivation into the reserve.
