Founded in 1999, UNIPROBA is dedicated to improving the livelihoods and political representation of the Indigenous Batwa community in Burundi, all while safeguarding the natural environment. They protect the biodiverse Kibira National Park from degradation and work with Batwa communities to plant fruit trees in the Kirundo and Bujumbura provinces.
UNIPROBA will use its TerraFund grant to improve livelihoods, reinforce the climate resilience of marginalized households, and restore the Nyamitanga and Kaburantwa hills to prosperity.
