Sprouted Roots LBG is dedicated to strengthening cooperative systems and supporting ethical sourcing to build resilient agricultural communities. With five years of experience, the organization works closely with farmers and cooperatives to enhance productivity and sustainability through capacity building, certification, and agroforestry practices. Their mission emphasizes empowering women and youth, promoting environmentally responsible practices, and linking producers to premium markets. Sprouted Roots LBG has engaged in innovative agricultural value chain initiatives, aiming to ensure that farming communities thrive both socially and economically while contributing to global sustainable sourcing.

The proposed project aims to restore degraded cocoa landscapes in Bosome Freho and Bosumtwe by establishing resilient agroforestry systems. The initiative will focus on restoring 2,000 hectares using climate-resilient native species and planting 80,000 trees across cocoa farms in Kokotro, Yapasaa, Kokobeng, Minti, Brodekwano, Abuontem, and Asamama. Activities include community engagement, farmer training, land preparation, planting cycles, and ongoing maintenance such as weeding, fire management, and survival assessments. The project will also train and equip youth in cocoa value chain services, introduce fine-flavor cocoa and alternative livelihoods, and strengthen cooperatives to improve market access and income diversification for 1,000 smallholder farmers. The approach integrates sustainable land management, environmental stewardship, and capacity building to enhance biodiversity, climate resilience, and community livelihoods.
