Established in 2014, Slow Food Conviva Association of Kenya is an affiliate of Slow Food International, a global organization whose mission is to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions. The organization works with farmers to encourage them to grow climate resilient crops and trees.

Slow Food Convivia will use the grant to champion a women and youth-led climate initiative to restore the Mau Forest ecosystem. It will secure incomes for these groups by training them to grow fruit, make sawdust briquettes, and run tree seedling nurseries.
