Rural Environmental and Development Organization (REDO)

Founded in 1999, REDO is a Rwandan non-profit organization that works with local communities to earn a living while also working towards environmental conservation. These include disseminating improved stoves that use less energy, tree planting, bee keeping, water harvesting and soil conservation.

With this grant, REDO will construct tree nurseries and engage the local community in growing trees to revitalize Lake Kivu Catchment in the Rusizi District. It will adopt the BEST approach of Rwandan conservation group ARCOS Network to build leadership, enhance environmental resilience, start sustainable businesses, and transform communities.
