Plant with Purpose is a Christian non-profit organization formed in 1984. It has partnered with over 81,000 smallholder farming families in nine countries to reverse the impacts of deforestation: Burundi, the DRC, the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Haiti, Mexico, Tanzania, and Thailand.
With this second grant from TerraFund, Plant with Purpose’s local affiliate Floresta Burundi will spearhead tree growing in the provinces of Bujumbura and Bururi. It will also teach farmers to make energy-saving stoves, clearing the air in their homes and reducing the need for firewood.
