In 2005, a group of Indigenous women in Ololulunga, a village in Kenya’s Narok County, formed Paran Women Group to involve their peers in tree growing and re-greening projects. The organization has worked with marginalized communities in the Mau Forest by educating them about Indigenous rights, training them on forest conservation, and providing energy efficient cookstoves to cut their reliance on firewood for cooking fuel.

Paran Women Group will use this grant to share tree planting and environmental conservation practices with the local community, encouraging them to protect the Mau Forest and its nearby farms.
