OPDP is a Kenya-based non-profit organization founded in 1999. Led by elders, thought leaders, and professionals from the Ogiek Indigenous community, the group was formed in the wake of historical injustices that stripped the population of their land rights. OPDP’s work centers on promoting Ogiek culture, securing community participation in all sectors, championing land rights, and advocating for sustainable development.

This grant will enable OPDP to revitalize the Mau Forest by increasing tree cover, fostering sustainable livelihood projects among forest groups, and enhancing community members’ knowledge of forest conservation strategies.
