LOCCOG was established as a Kenyan environmental non-profit organization in 2019. It champions the environmental conservation of Lake Ol'Bolossat and its surrounding area, all while preserving vital ecological functions and involving a wide range of stakeholders. The group has brought together more than 45 community conservation groups with more than 5,000 members to partner on restoration projects.
LOCCOG will use this grant to restore degraded forests, riparian zones, and farms throughout Nyandura County. These renewed landscapes will ward off landslides and rock falls, protecting nearby residents from harm.
