Kukuom Union is an organized cooperative for cocoa-growing families in Ghana. It first began with few farmers who volunteered to help each other with activities like weeding, harvesting, and breaking down cocoa pods. The cooperative was officially established in 2011 and since then has rapidly expanded, now supporting 3,601 members across 29 communities.

Kukuom Union will use this grant to rehabilitate old cocoa fields, integrate trees into existing farms, and establish new cultivation areas across the cooperative. The project will embrace assisted natural regeneration techniques, using just a touch of human intervention to give trees on cocoa farms the space that they need to grow.
