Habelle’s Foundation is committed to restoring degraded ecosystems and improving community wellbeing through inclusive, community-driven approaches. With three years of experience, the organization focuses on practical restoration methods that blend scientific and indigenous knowledge, working closely with women, youth, farmers, and local institutions. Their initiatives span tree planting, sustainable land management, and green livelihood development, aiming to rebuild biodiversity, protect water sources, and create lasting economic opportunities. Habelle’s Foundation emphasizes partnership, local ownership, and measurable impact, ensuring that restoration efforts lead to resilient landscapes and stronger communities.
The proposed project seeks to restore 30 hectares of degraded forest-reserve land in the Juaboso–Bia area by planting 38,000 climate-resilient trees and integrating nature-based livelihoods such as mushroom cultivation and beekeeping. The initiative will engage and train local women and youth, create direct employment, and benefit around 200 community members. Activities include establishing nurseries, conducting capacity-building sessions, planting and maintaining trees, and launching livelihood enterprises. The project also involves community sensitization on sustainable land use and climate adaptation, with ongoing monitoring and stewardship to ensure long-term ecological recovery, improved soil and watershed health, and sustainable management of restored forest lands.
