Greening Burundi is a youth-led non-profit organization that promotes climate resilience initiatives in schools and communities across the provinces of Cibitoke and Bubanza. The organization’s vision centers around preserving and growing Burundi’s forests, eradicating poverty, and bolstering food security.

Greening Burundi will use this grant to expand its current restoration activities in Kibira National Park at the center of the Albertine Rift. This lush landscape is known not only for supplying water to Central and East Africa, but also for being home to a great number of endangered species like Grauer’s broadbill and the chimpanzee.
