Originally founded to provide disaster relief, GAD now combines research with on-the-ground restoration techniques for a multifaceted approach to sustainable development. Based in the DRC’s South Kivu province, the non-profit organization takes international and locally recognized sustainable natural resource management techniques and advocates for them within the community. GAD will use this TerraFund grant to train farmers in Kalehe Territory, strengthening their knowledge in agroforestry techniques and providing a pathway to alternative livelihoods through beekeeping courses.
