Goshen Global Vision (GGV) is a non-profit organization based in Ghana’s Western Region, dedicated to building community resilience through natural resource management and increasing tree cover while improving local livelihoods. With nine years of experience, GGV has established itself as a leader in landscape restoration, working across urban, peri-urban, and rural areas. The organization collaborates with partners such as One Tree Planted, AFR100, and the US Forest Service, and is recognized for its technical expertise in native tree seed propagation and nursery management. GGV’s approach emphasizes community engagement, particularly with women and youth, and includes the formation of village savings and loan associations, peer-to-peer farmer learning, and environmental education. Their demonstration farm and technical support to local forestry authorities further highlight their capacity and commitment to high-quality restoration.

The proposed project aims to restore 498.4 hectares of degraded land in the Krokosua Hills Forest Reserve and three cocoa-growing communities in the Juaboso Bia District by planting 400,000 tree seedlings, focusing on native species to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services. Activities will include establishing community nurseries, training women and youth in nursery management and planting techniques, and supporting alternative livelihoods through beekeeping, plantain sucker multiplication, and village savings groups. The project will engage over 400 local participants, with a strong emphasis on women’s involvement, and will use digital tools for monitoring and data collection. By integrating restoration with economic empowerment and capacity building, the initiative seeks to improve forest cover, support wildlife habitats, and provide sustainable income opportunities, ensuring long-term conservation and community benefits in the targeted areas.
