Fanteakwa District CCP Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing

Formed in 2011, this cooperative is a Ghanaian non-profit organization that brings together 2,046 members from 25 societies. The group is devoted to working alongside local communities to promote cocoa farmers’ wellbeing, encourage youth to join the agribusiness sector, and enhance quality chocolate manufacturing.

With this grant, the union will work to incorporate native shade trees throughout cocoa farms in the districts of Fanteakwa, Atiwa, and Abuakwa. While the industry has historically led to degradation as farmers cleared the land for their crops, the new trees will revitalize the area and produce healthier, richer soil.
