Excelsa will implement a large-scale restoration program covering 171 hectares in priority landscapes. This effort will involve the planting of 90,000 economic and indigenous trees. Excelsa will restore 171 hectares through agroforestry plantation development, planting 9 native and high-value timber species to enhance biodiversity corridors and support sustainable wood value chains. Urban and riparian greening initiatives will be done through contract services for cooperatives and NGOs.

Beyond tree planting, Excelsa’s model emphasizes farmer training, community engagement, and long-term maintenance to ensure high survival rates and lasting impact. By integrating restoration with livelihood opportunities, we aim to build resilient rural economies, sequester significant amounts of carbon, and contribute to Ghana’s national targets for climate change mitigation and forest cover recovery. Through this project, Excelsa is demonstrating that nature-based solutions can simultaneously deliver economic returns, ecological regeneration, and climate benefits when designed with farmers and local communities.
