Bright Generation Community Foundation (BGCF) is a Ghanaian non-profit dedicated to restoring degraded landscapes and building climate resilience through community empowerment. With three years of experience, BGCF specializes in cultivating bamboo and indigenous trees, engaging women and youth in nursery management, and promoting sustainable bamboo value chains. The organization has established strong partnerships with traditional leaders, schools, and local authorities, and is recognized for its commitment to ecological restoration and socio-economic development in local communities.

The Bosomtwe Forest Restoration Project seeks to restore 35 hectares of degraded forest reserve in the Bosomtwe District by planting 38,000 mixed tree species, improving soil protection, and stabilizing watersheds. The project integrates a bamboo-based livelihood component, including the establishment of a bamboo greenhouse to supply seedlings for both restoration and community income generation. Activities include community mobilization, nursery establishment, training in silviculture and fire management, phased planting, agroforestry demonstration plots, and ongoing ecological monitoring. The initiative emphasizes community leadership, particularly involving women and youth, and aims to create sustainable green livelihoods, enhance biodiversity, reduce erosion, and foster long-term stewardship of restored lands through structured governance and strong local engagement.
