BIOCOOR is a youth-led organization with 12 years of experience dedicated to conserving biodiversity, promoting ecotourism, improving community health, and addressing climate change. The organization has a strong track record in restoration, combining ecological expertise with community engagement. BIOCOOR is recognized for its integrated approach, blending assisted natural regeneration, agroforestry, and livelihood diversification, and has made notable contributions by empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities in restoration activities.

The proposed project focuses on restoring 250 hectares of degraded forests and farmland through a combination of tree planting, assisted natural regeneration, riparian restoration, and agroforestry. Over six years, BIOCOOR will engage 389 households across three villages, prioritizing inclusive participation and capacity building. The project aims to create 500 green jobs in nursery management, beekeeping, eco-tourism, and value-added enterprises, with a strong emphasis on women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Community-led nurseries and non-tree-based livelihoods will enhance food security and resilience, while local institutions and cooperatives will be strengthened to lead restoration governance and ensure long-term sustainability. Maintenance and monitoring will be community-driven, using GIS and mobile tools to track progress and ensure high tree survival rates, ultimately improving biodiversity, reducing erosion, and supporting local economies.
