Association pour la Promotion des Cultures Vivrières (APROCUVI)

Since 2002, APROCUVI has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to revitalizing Burundi’s landscapes. With a focus on women and youth, APROCUVI supports farmers in crop management and processing, develops marketing for producers, and provides training and education to cooperatives.

While APROCUVI works across the entire country, this grant will be used to restore the base of the Murangara-Ruramata mountains, a region consistently threatened by periods of both drought and flooding. Local communities will co-manage this project, lowering food insecurity, bolstering their incomes, and reducing the risk of soil erosion in the process.
